I started my journey in April 2014 for IIT. But now, it is July 2016, and I am joining Thapar University. Not a bad reputation in market, but not a good one either. Expensive as it has to be. Can't say of the infrastructure as I have not yet visited the campus. But will do so in 2 days, and that shall be another update. I had thought of VIT as a backup plan when I filled my application forms, and never thought of joining Thapar.
But life always has something unplanned for us. I applied for Thapar due to my under confidence of performance in JEE Advanced. And the mains result read: 178. Surely low to get CSE in Thapar as per 2015 cutoff, but they had increased the seats. Moreover, they offered specialisation courses!
On 23 May 2016 at around 7:00 PM, the name Thapar came as a rescue to the worries I had. Having forgotten about my application here, I was worried about my future. Now, this college with a fair market reputation had offered me a seat in Computer Animation and Gaming(my second preference).
178 in Mains should mean a decent rank, but no. That is another story for another day. For now, let us keep it to here only.
