Not just another post!

Well, What I am putting in here will not be just another post. I am here after a long time, and I don't even know what triggered in my mind that I recalled of a blog that I have started. Anyone seeing my posts(Well, I know that there are such people, courtesy the viewer count on blogger) would probably have thought that all this guy is doing is cribbing continuously. Today, I will raise a few major flaws(Again!), but for a change, I will also suggest solutions to those problems, not all but some of them.
So, starting again with the regular cribbing situations.
  1. Attendance. The only solution to this is do away with the criteria. Why do you need to force the students to attend lectures? Do you take in dumb students(I don't think you think so! It was supposed to be among the prestigious universities of India) or do you know your lectures are not worth attending? Well, probably the latter. Remove the criteria for a semester, and see the student turnout in the classes. That will surely tell you what your lectures actually are worth. So, I actually had this simple solution to this problem.
  2. Authorities. Why? Are we immature enough to be unable to take our decisions? No. Let us have that authority. Let us decide if we want to give the quiz on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Let us decide if chapter 4 should be a part of the syllabus or not. Let us decide of classes at 8:00AM are too early, or if those at 5:00PM are too late. Let us decide if we need 2 lectures or 3 lectures every week for Maths. Let us decide if the lecture will be 1 hour or half. Let us decide if it is appropriate to use mobiles in a class or not. You are a college, not a jail. We are students, or rather Humans, not Robots. Please let us decide. We are grown up, and deserve to take our won decisions. Why can you not understand this simple fact?
  3. Breaks. Well, 1 hour for traveling 2km, eating food and freshening up are too less. Classes till 1PM, and again from 2PM is just too much. Reach 5 minutes late and you won't get the attendance. You decide the course, the syllabus outline, and that is it. We decide the rest!
So, there were some solutions. Well, the basic issue is that Thapar is behaving like a production factory, treating everyone the same, not giving weight age to their skill, their weakness, their talent, their interest. No, I am not to be referred to as Roll Number XXX, or Student of batch so and so, or even the one who has a score of ABC, a CGPA of PQRS, or in the future, a package of XYZ LPA. I have a name, I have an identity. Use that. Just one faculty member calls me Sanchit. Why? Because he is the only smart guy.

If by any chance, any student of Q Batch reads this, you know who that is. Don't publicize it. I will, but after the semester. Have faith in me.
